Iris Breward is a UK-based director and writer who uses dark humour to explore power dynamics in relationships, both the intimate and the institutional, with a particular interest in how masculinity and gender roles shape our behaviour. Her exploration of these themes is partially informed by her work as a trade union organiser. 

Her short film, Sidney, was selected for BAFTA-Qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival and Crystal Palace Film Festival. Sidney premiered online on Director's Notes. She is also a finalist for The Pitch Film Fund 2025 with her short film Sauna. Iris' third narrative short, Afterplay is currently being submitted to festivals.
